Keap review
CRM, automation, and ecommerce in one platform: the original all-in-one for serious online businesses.
Is Keap right for you?
Keap (Infusionsoft before the 2019 rename) was arguably the first platform to put deep email automation, funnel building, and ecommerce in one box. That’s ordinary now. It wasn’t then, and for years serious online businesses ran on it because nothing else could do the whole job.
The depth is still the argument: multi-step launches with behaviour-based branching, contact records that reflect what someone bought, and order forms and upsells feeding straight back into the automation. It’s built on the assumption that selling online is complicated, and it doesn’t flinch. If your business runs on launches, that’s worth a great deal.
The price has always matched that ambition. It was expensive when its users were the biggest names in the course and creator economy, and it’s still priced for companies with real revenue moving through it, roughly a seven-figure business. That’s not a criticism, just who it’s for. What has changed is the market: newer platforms do most of what a typical business needs, with less history in the interface and a gentler learning curve.
So Keap has a specific shape: an all-in-one for businesses that sell through the platform, alongside Ontraport and a step below HubSpot. If you need what it does, it has been doing it longer than almost anyone. If you mostly need to send email well, that’s a smaller job with better-suited tools on this shelf.
Can your AI run it? We grade Keap a C for AI access (September 2026): an official MCP endpoint exists, but its documentation wasn’t readable to us, and Keap’s API can’t create automations or broadcasts, so no connector built on it can either. See the full grades.
Questions about Keap
What people usually want to know before committing, answered the way we'd answer them on a call.
Is Keap the same thing as Infusionsoft?
Yes. Keap is the renamed Infusionsoft, and you'll still hear the old name, especially from anyone in the creator and course-selling world a decade ago. When you research it, know that many tutorials, agency expertise, and horror stories are Infusionsoft-era and describe a platform that has since moved on.
How does Keap compare to Ontraport and HubSpot?
Alongside Ontraport, and a step below HubSpot in reach. Keap and Ontraport solve the same problem (automation, CRM, and payments in one system for online sellers), so choose by which interface your team will live in. HubSpot reaches further, toward running a whole company with sales, service, and enterprise-grade reporting, and prices accordingly.
Read the Ontraport reviewWhat size of business is Keap actually for?
Comfortably a seven-figure online business, from the low end to the top. Below that, most operations won't build the automation depth and the price is hard to justify; above it, an enterprise platform may serve you better. It has always been priced for businesses with real revenue moving through it.
Is Keap worth choosing today rather than a newer platform?
Shortlist it if launches and complex automation are central to how you sell; skip it if they aren't. Keap was arguably the first to put deep email automation, funnel building, and ecommerce in one box, and that maturity shows. But newer tools have caught up on what most businesses use, with less history in the interface. The question is whether you need the depth, not whether it's real.
