AddEvent review

Add-to-calendar buttons and subscribable calendars that work across every calendar app.

Is AddEvent right for you?

This solves a problem that sounds trivial and isn’t. Registering for a webinar and attending one are different acts, separated by a week and a person’s memory. The highest-leverage fix is making “add to calendar” one click that works: on their phone, in whatever calendar they use, without a downloaded file that opens in the wrong app.

AddEvent handles the cross-platform tedium: Google, Outlook, Apple, and the rest, from one button, plus subscribable calendars for a series and RSVP tracking if you want it. On a launch, that button belongs on the thank-you page and in the thank-you email, the two moments when someone has just decided they care.

The use most people don’t think of is coaching. If you run a group programme or meet clients on a regular rhythm, subscribers each get the schedule privately, whereas a shared Google calendar invite exposes every attendee’s email address to every other attendee. That makes it useful for group coaching, certification programmes, and cohorts, not just launches.

It is, though, a small tool with a recurring bill. Judge it by what a few points of show-up rate are worth to you. For a business running regular launches or webinars, that answers itself, and it’s reasonable to switch it on for a launch and off afterwards rather than carrying it year-round.

Common questions

Questions about AddEvent

What people usually want to know before committing, answered the way we'd answer them on a call.

Does an add-to-calendar link really change anything?

It changes attendance, the number that decides whether a launch works. Registering for a webinar and attending are separate acts, separated by a week and somebody's memory, and that gap is where most registrations quietly disappear. A one-click add that works on their phone, in their calendar, closes it. If they don't show up, you don't sell, so a few points of show-up rate is worth the subscription several times over.

Why not just paste a calendar link myself?

Because there are a lot of calendars, and they all behave differently. Google, Outlook, Apple, and the rest each want something slightly different, and a downloaded file that opens in the wrong app is a registration lost. AddEvent handles that tedium from one button. If you run a single event a year, hand-roll it and spend the money elsewhere; the tool earns its place on repetition.

What happens when the event details change?

With a subscribable calendar (a webinar series, a cohort, a launch sequence), you update it once and the change reaches everyone who subscribed, automatically. That's the underrated part: no apology email, no chasing people still holding the old time. For anything running across multiple dates, that alone is most of the value.

Is this useful outside of launches?

Yes, and coaching is the case people don't think of. If you run a group programme or meet clients regularly, subscribers each get the schedule privately, so you're not putting everyone on a shared invite that exposes the whole client list. An ordinary shared Google event leaks every attendee's email address to every other attendee.
