Is Kajabi right for you?
Kajabi’s real product is the absence of integration work. Courses, checkout, email, landing pages, and the site they live on ship as one system that knows about itself, so the sequence that fires when someone buys just works. No three tools and a webhook to debug at midnight before a launch. For a creator short on attention rather than money, that’s worth a great deal.
The price of being all things to everyone is that every edge is a little dull. The email, the site builder, and the membership and live-event tooling each sit a step behind the specialist you’d have chosen one at a time. None of it is bad. Whether that matters comes down to which of those jobs is the centre of your business.
Plenty of people won’t take that trade and run two systems instead: a custom site for the brand and content, with Kajabi behind it handling opt-ins, landing pages, and course sales. We raise the cost before clients commit, because it never makes the plan: two systems built to your spec means two to pay for, maintain, patch, and keep visually consistent, indefinitely. Sometimes that’s the right call. It’s never the cheap one.
Where it earns its keep with little argument: course delivery, course creators, and funnel builders. If that’s the centre of the business rather than a side of it, the bloat and dull edges are a fair price for never wiring anything together.

Is Kajabi worth the money?
It depends on whether you need an all-in-one, and we'd rather you decide that honestly than be talked into it. If you want one system for courses, email, checkout, and pages with nothing to connect, it's a powerful machine and earns its price. If one of those jobs is the centre of your business (you're really an email operation, or the website is the asset), you'll feel the limits constantly and resent paying for the other four.
Where does Kajabi fall short of a dedicated tool?
Every edge is a little duller than the purpose-built alternative, the unavoidable cost of being all things to everyone. The email isn't a dedicated email platform, the site builder isn't a CMS, and the membership and live-event tooling aren't what a specialist would hand you. None of it is bad. Whether that matters depends on which jobs are central to your business rather than adjacent.
Should I run Kajabi alongside a separate website?
You can, and it costs more than almost anyone prices in. The common pattern is a custom site carrying the brand and content, with Kajabi behind it for opt-ins, landing pages, and course sales. What actually drives the cost of Kajabi?
Plan tier. Each Kajabi plan caps products, contacts, websites and admin users, and Kajabi's own pricing page lists a contact limit on every tier, with extra contacts sold in blocks. So both what you sell and how big your list grows can push you up a tier. Check the current limits on Kajabi's pricing page against the list size you expect in a year, not the one you have today.
Kajabi or Circle: which do I need?
If the product is the material, start with Kajabi. If the product is the room, start with Circle and pair it with a real email platform, which will beat any all-in-one's built-in email anyway. The two converged from opposite directions: Kajabi began as course delivery and grew community; Circle began as community and added courses, payments, and events. The clearest remaining difference is that Kajabi brings email automation and a site builder and Circle doesn't.
