Modernizing Brendon.com into a fast, mobile-first platform

  • Mobile-firstresponsive rebuild of Brendon.com

The story

Brendon.com ran on non-mobile-friendly HTML tables that no longer reflected Brendon’s stature or supported his publishing volume. We migrated to a fully responsive custom WordPress build (Salient child theme), wired up list-building infrastructure (Keap & Marketo), and streamlined blog, video, and podcast publishing. The template’s popularity later spawned the “Elevate Your Brand” workshop partnership.

Case study details

The plan, the build, and what the new Brendon.com unlocked.

The plan

Brendon’s brief, in his own words, was to make his online brand “Oprah-ready”: a world-class, mobile-optimized content and conversion engine he could drive himself every day. We focused on:

  • Replacing rigid, homemade HTML tables with a fully responsive custom WordPress build for high-volume publishing.
  • Keeping Brendon “in the code” while upgrading the user experience, information architecture, and brand presence.
  • Centralizing his blog and media on one platform that could grow with his video and podcast ecosystem.
  • Baking list-building tools into the theme so his team could launch campaigns and CTAs without custom dev.

We mapped his content, traffic, and marketing workflows, then designed the theme around how he and his team work: publish quickly, capture leads intelligently, and look great on every device.

Results

The new Brendon.com finally matched his stature as one of the world’s most prolific content creators:

  • Mobile-first experience: the site responds beautifully across devices, replacing the non-mobile-friendly HTML-tables build.
  • Faster publishing: custom tools we built let his team roll out new YouTube and podcast episodes quickly.
  • Smarter list growth: global and page-specific opt-in CTAs are wired into the backend, so campaigns launch and test without extra engineering.
  • Future-ready brand hub: after launch, we recoded and lightly redesigned the theme for the Brendon.com domain move and ongoing improvements.

And it worked: within months of project completion, Brendon met and worked with Oprah. The site also became our social proof, leading directly to collaborations with Jeff Walker, Sonia Choquette, Dr. Mark Hyman, Joe Polish, the I Love Marketing show, and many other marquee experts. The template grew so popular that we partnered on a live workshop and training program: Elevate Your Brand.

Tech & tools

Under the hood, WordPress engineering met custom marketing integrations built for Brendon’s workflow:

  • WordPress as the primary CMS: drag-and-drop page creation, strong blogging, and extensibility for a prolific content brand.
  • A custom child theme based on Salient, later recoded for the Brendon.com domain move and new features.
  • Custom Keap & Marketo list-building infrastructure behind opt-in CTAs Brendon’s team can spin up in minutes.
  • Integrated video, including a high-impact masthead promo video from Travis Shields of Shields Films.
  • Deep blogging integration replacing his old Tumblr setup, unlocking WordPress for content, SEO, and marketing tools.
Conclusion

More than a redesign, this project gave one of the world’s top personal development leaders a digital home worthy of his influence. Brendon called our team “brilliant at both design & site architecture,” reflecting how closely we aligned brand, technology, and marketing in one build.

The new Brendon.com doesn’t just look better; it works harder, supporting his daily publishing and quietly powering list growth and launches. It shows how fragile, outdated infrastructure can become a robust platform that grows with your vision.
